Rebecca - Faces of Somerset County

Rebecca - 44
Part-time instructor for ACM, but working towards a career in health and wellness to help others maintain a healthy lifestyle.

"My happiest memories are the births of my three children. Nothing can top that.

My biggest struggle/obstacle was recovering from late-stage Lyme disease. I went undiagnosed for a long time and my body crashed three years ago. I came close to leaving this earth and was housebound and bedridden for a time. I fought for two years to gain my health back. I have a ways to go, but I'm thankful to be alive and upright and able to enjoy and take care of my family again. Lyme disease is increasing across the nation, and I want to help others become aware of how to protect yourself.

I love when you are driving up the mountain at night from some other place, and you open your car windows--you can smell the dirt. Sounds weird, but living near the beach made me miss the outdoorsy scent of the cool mountain air of Somerset County. Also, I love the people. I always feel like they "have my back", so to speak. -What do you believe is the key to happiness? The key to happiness is having an open heart and eyes that can see those who need your compassion today."
